A Wageningen alumni chapter is an alumni association for Wageningen alumni. Wageningen University and the KLV alumni association want to promote networking within the alumni community. Although we expect alumni chapters to be self-supporting and we encourage alumni chapters to independently decide what kind of activities they wish to set up, we also give advice and help establish useful contacts:
- We can advise alumni who are interested in establishing an alumni chapter in their region to get in touch with the Dutch Embassy and, if applicable, to contact the Netherlands Alumni Association in their region. They are often willing to give advice and in some cases can provide active support. We will help establish such contacts when needed.
- We can supply lists of addresses of alumni living in a specific region, provided this list is handled with discretion and in accordance with the Dutch privacy regulations.
- We can act as a mediator to help organise annual meetings. We can send high level officials or experts to give presentations at such meetings. They can be either scientific staff of Wageningen UR or alumni with a relevant post in government.
- We can provide financial support for a start-up meeting in some cases. This will be a modest amount, which is intended to help set up the initial meeting of alumni to develop enthusiasm for a Wageningen alumni chapter, discuss ways to find support and draw up an action plan.
